Smita De Bio
Dr. Smita De is a distinguished physician and researcher specializing in urology and minimally invasive surgery. Currently serving as an Staff Physician in the Cleveland Clinic Department of Urology, Dr. De’s expertise has garnered national recognition as an endourologist, and specifically in treating enlarged prostates with holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). Additionally, she holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. De attained her MD and PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Washington. Prior to this, she completed her undergraduate studies in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering at Duke University. Her dedication to research during her educational pursuits led to notable contributions in the field and earned her a predoctoral fellowship from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
